The Blue Party – June 21
You are invited to a color party and swap meet all in one! Wear blue, carry blue accessories, embody blue, BE the color blue. And bring some cool things to swap. They don’t have to be blue, but bonus points if they are.

Note on the Food
I have already done some research on blue food and there just isn’t much out there. Most of the recipes are sweets, which isn’t a good meal. The savory stuff is random, a lot of dyes and food coloring, and most of it looks incredibly unsettling.
I plan to incorporate blue into the menu where appropriate, but I’m not making a spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres that look gross which no one is going to touch. Because why? So the food won’t be blue. But it will look like something you want to eat.
Sticking to the color theme foodwise will be easier with different colors!
Swap Meet
We are going to have an optional swap component to the party. Here are the rules.
- Bring no more than 3 items per person
- Items should be all household or kitchen items. I realize this is vague, but we have a diverse group so items for a smaller audience might not find a new home. Clothing might be difficult to move, for example. Nerdy stuff would be popular with our group, though.
- Make sure each item is in good condition and if it has a function, can perform that function
- All items must be cleaned prior to the party
- For each item you bring, you get a ticket
- These tickets can be used to bid, silent auction style, on other items
- Tickets can be pooled
- Please let Star know you are bringing items so she has an idea how many silent auction sheets to print out before the party
- Any items not swapped can be taken home or given away
- Finally, bring cool things to swap for other cool things. Seriously, no one wants a dusty copy of The Notebook on DVD.
